I attended private school for A-levels. The teachers are very helpful and willing to go the extra mile by answering to the queries of the students even after classes. Writing as an anxious, helpless mum after my son received a D for his JC2 Prelim results.  By chance I discovered SmartLab online.  The only weekly enrichment session left that suited my son was the one with Mr Tan Wei Ee’s class in Woodlands.  My son was able to understand Mr Tan’s teaching and applied the concepts to his Bio papers at the 2025 A-level exam.  Jumping 3 grades from D to an A in just a short period of 3 months was nothing short of amazing! My daughter joined smartlab to prepare for O-levels, she took Science (Chemistry, Biology) and English at the centre. It was months of their guidance, termly assessments and feedbacks from teachers in preparation for the Os. She was able to get A2 in Science. The reward she gets from Smartlab every time she gets an A for the Science term assessment added to her motivation. 😁 She said that she was relying on the notes given to her by her teacher towards the exams and she was so thankful of it that she decided to keep all of it if she may need it in the future. She is so thankful to her teachers in Science, I am so thankful to them as well for keeping her more interested in the subject that she loves and helping her excel on it. was recommended by a close friend, teachers was kind and helpful and did their best to answer any queries that students had during lessons and even through messages when not having lessons. really helped me improve my grades from prelims to o levels, which i am really thankful of. my biggest improvement was my humanities, from barely a pass to now a B3 in o levels. This is from a parent’s perspective. It was not an easy decision to have my daughter retake her o levels because of the stigma of wasting another year. I knew and so did my daughter from before her prelims that aiming for the result she wanted to get into a school of her choice would be quite impossible. I already started thinking of alternatives and by God’s grace I found out about SmartLab Private School and had a long chat with Tony. After that the path was clear and even when the results were not out, my daughter was registered at the school. 1 year later, the results speak for itself. No tuition this time! Chloe won 2 awards for good performance as well! SmartLab is more than a school, it is a place for those who want direct their own direction in life. I've had a wonderful opportunity to attend classes back in 2025, with Biology being taught by Mr Tan and Physics being taught by Mr Anton. As a student in SmartLab, I am extremely fortunate to meet many dedicated teachers in their teaching. They are patient,  and will always be there whenever students have questions about school work and exam questions. I will really want to thank my Chinese teacher 池老师 for her guidance and support throughout my learning journey in SmartLab, without her support I would not have achieved what I have scored for my Chinese exam this year. On top of that, I would like to thank my English and Social Studies teacher, Ms Toa and Mr Fairoz. They are always there whenever I need help with school work, and they give good advices about how I can improve my language and writing. Lastly, I would like to thank all the admin staffs in the school for always helping, whenever I need help with printing worksheets and notes. My daughter has been attending Smartlab Education Centre (Kovan) for N-Level Science, focusing on Chemistry and Biology, and we have seen a clear improvement in her understanding and results. She is now more confident in answering questions and has a much better grasp of key concepts that she previously struggled with. The teachers are very professional, dedicated, and patient. They take the time to ensure my daughter truly understands the topics, and they are always encouraging and supportive. Their commitment to students’ progress really shows. The teaching materials are well-prepared, clear, and aligned with the N-Level syllabus. The notes, practice questions, and revision materials have been extremely helpful for both Chemistry and Biology. I had a blast the past year studying at smartlab! Every teacher was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and patient. Any part of the syllabuses that I did not understand would be explained to me with patience and repeatedly if necessary without them showing  any sign of frustration! Texting the teachers was always recommended if clarification on topics was needed. The classrooms were all kept clean and the teachers always came prepared and well equipped for upcoming lessons. They provided us with ample notes and practice papers to ensure no gap in knowledge whatsoever. Thank you to Mr Tay Tien Kiat, Mr Tan Wei Ee, Mr Collin Lim and Principal of the SmartLab Mr Tony Tan for their guidance and support throughout the year! The admin support is also excellent.  We are very happy with the progress that he has made and he will continue with J2 Chemistry and Maths classes next year. I enrolled at Smartlab last year to prepare for my O Levels as a private candidate at the age of 24. Back when I was 17, I took my N Levels and completely flunked them. I had no interest in studying at all. My grades were English (4), History (Absent) and the rest ungraded (Math, Science, POA). Fast forward to last year, after studying with Smartlab, my O Level results were English (A2), Humanities (Social Studies + History) (B4), Business Studies (B3) and POA (B3). Although I didn’t manage to pass Math (D7), I think I did pretty well considering I hadn’t studied for almost 8 years. Smartlab’s teachers and teaching strategies were very effective, they managed to cover about four years’ worth of content in less than a year. Their resources and structured approach really helped me regain my confidence in studying. Special thanks to Mr. Collin, who taught me English, Social Studies and History. He’s extremely encouraging, patient and always willing to help. I often texted him late at night with questions and he would always reply quickly. Overall, Smartlab’s teaching methods, materials and supportive teachers made a huge difference in my learning journey. I have been going to SmartLab since IP Year 1. I currently finished JC1 chemistry under Mr Tony Tan and JC1 math under Mr Tay Tien Kiat. Mr Tan, my chemistry teacher, is extremely passionate in teaching. The way he teaches is very concise, and he makes even the most difficult concepts easy to understand. The thing that strikes me the most is his dedication. He provides extra lessons to those who needs it, which really helps a lot. He also gave us ang paos during Chinese New Year! My math teacher, Mr Tay Tien Kiat, is also a really good teacher. He has been teaching me since Year 1, when I used to take math and physics with him. He loves to crack dry jokes, which helps lighten the mood in the lesson. He always ensures that I understand the concepts perfectly, by using analogies to explain them, and explaining them until I understand it perfectly. He also will answer my questions on WhatsApp even after lesson time. after greatly improving my A level score after going through the smartlab private school program, I have decided to work full time as a financial advisor through his GP lessons, Mr Collin has taught me how to be strategic and reverse engineer solutions instead of brute forcing your way through. I used to think that scoring well in GP meant I had to be ultra well read, and use bombastic vocabulary to impress scorers. However, after his classes, I learnt to make studying a lot more efficient by finding out in advance what scorers are looking for and simply giving it to them, instead of imposing what I thought they wanted on them Mr Tony and I remained in contact after I graduated from smartlab, and he has taught me about not being afraid to take a chance as he has in his various business ventures, and guided my thinking when it came to entrepreneurship, conflict resolution, and life Mr Kash has also demonstrated the importance of holistic development. He commands respect by carrying himself well, being physically in shape, and of course being able to competently teach the subject matter as well. Upon reflection, I realised that it was less about him knowing his stuff that made me listen to him as it was the fact that he gave the impression of being someone who had his life in order. I remember coming here at the beginning of 2022. I had not attended a learning institute for one and a half years by then, and thus had no idea how I was to somehow cram two years' worth of information into my memory. Thankfully, the tutors here were able to teach the subjects in an engaging and efficient way, to the point where I was able to finish my O-levels in that same year. Thank you so much, SmartLab, for giving me a second chance to redeem myself for my O-Levels and allowing me to pass all my subjects with flying colours. My chemistry especially, have improved tremendously, from E8 to A2!! After many negative experiences in my former school, SmartLab completely changed my perspective on studying and learning. The teachers here are incredibly kind, patient, and dedicated — they take the time to explain every concept clearly until you truly understand it. They never make you feel judged or left behind, and their encouragement really motivated me to keep going. You can also approach the teachers anytime after class if you still have any doubts. They also provide really good notes and you even get to do hands-on practice for your Science practical at their lab! The learning environment is also very conducive — quiet, comfortable, and filled with people who genuinely want to learn and improve themselves. I always felt supported not only academically but also emotionally, which made a huge difference in my confidence and attitude toward my studies. I’m truly grateful for everything SmartLab has done for me. It’s not just a tuition centre — it’s a place that helped me rebuild my self-belief and rediscover the joy of learning. I took pure sciences for the first time and, with the teachers’ guidance and support, I managed to learn it well within a year and score a better grade for my O-Levels. During 2022 was my first o levels, being playful and not mindful about my studies. I would do badly for o’s and that i did. Scoring 28 for my r4 i realised i had no choices in any of the courses i wanted  to go to further my studies. Not only that i feared retaining as i felt like i was a loser, all my friends going to jc and their dream courses which demoralised me. so obv i just went to poly and not the course of my choice. Ard half a year ltr in poly i realised i hated my course so much i dreaded going to school and eventually led to me dropping out and hence i did. Stuck between private diploma, army or just retaking o’s i couldnt decided, until i came about smart lab read about it and researched more into it and realised maybe i do have another shot at taking o levels again.  Here at smart lab the teachers are all approachable and willing to help and guide u as long as u are willing to learn. Mr collin my english and social studies teacher really made me realise o level isnt just about memorising there are tactics in which we can use to our advantages, he made lessons easy to understand, learn and most importantly he never made o level feel impossible to do. I love the teachers here! They make things really easy to understand and the class size is not as big so I’m able to sound out my queries! I had an enjoyable time there and my grades were excellent! Mr Tay really helped in my H2 maths. I like how flexible his lesson timings are and he often let students stay longer than the allocated time slots to practise more. His explanations are written clearly and easy to understand. He never belittles students for not understanding his solutions and has multiple explanations to the same question. Taking the triple science subject combination in secondary 3, there was alot of workload needed to be managed and could be quite stressful, as there would have been a constant struggle to keep up with the learning, if not for this tuition. I enrolled my son Arthur with Smartlab 6 years ago when he was in IP1. He went to a few trail lessons with other tuition centres before we decided on Smartlab. We've never regretted with Smartlab as the tutors Thin Long and Tony are very patient and helped him understand chemistry better. Mr Collin was my GP teacher. His lessons were interesting and enjoyable, teaching us important tips and tricks to mastering the language. He always puts his student’s first, answers our questions passionately, making it easy for us to approach him when in doubt. I took two classes A-math and Physics in Smart lab and I think it is quite beneficial for me. My A-math teacher, Mr Lenny, is helpful and has allowed me to come early on certain days to help me with my examinations preparations. I took lessons with Smartlab for lower secondary science and upper secondary pure chemistry and pure physics. My lessons with Mr Tan Wei Ee were effective as he went through concepts in an easy to understand manner. I took Biology O levels as a private candidate last year and had only 7 months to learn everything taught from secondary 3 to secondary 4. My teacher, Mr Tan, is very knowledgeable and his method of teaching made every lesson very fun and enjoyable, allowing me to learn a great deal. He even offered additional lessons just to make sure I was on the right track with my learning due to the tight time constraint. Thank you Mr Tay (Bishan outlet) for helping my Physics grades improve from C5 to A2, I really appreciate it 🙏 I liked how lessons in Smartlab were conducted, as I found them clear, and the notes provided were also very helpful, so from all these resources I was able to better understand the concepts taught. I also liked that there were lab lessons as this helped me to gain more exposure to the different kinds of experiments, hence I felt that I was better prepared for the practicals. I decided to put my daughter with Smartlab Bishan after my son had a 3 AL improvement in his PSLE Science with Mr Lin Jinfu 3 years ago. The centre had good set of notes to begin with and the teachings was styled such that each student could benefit from it. With most heartfelt thanks, my daughter has also achieved a great improvement under the guidance of Mr Tay Tien Kiat in Sec 3 and Sec 4 Pure Physics. She was sticky at Cs initially but improved to score A2 for her O level. Mr Tay had made the physics concepts much much clearer and his class was always interesting and engaging. The lab practical sessions which my daughter attended twice before O level indeed helped her to be more familiar and exposed her to more practical experiments than what her school could offer. My son's Maths, Chemistry and Physics teachers at SmartLab Woodlands Branch are very dedicated and are able to explain and break down important concepts for my son to understand better. His Maths and Science subjects had improved and I'm very happy that the teachers at SmartLab can help my son whenever he has problems or queries on his subjects or homework in school. SmartLab teachers had helped greatly in my son's O Levels Maths and Chemistry results. He had improved tremendously. My son previously had problems understanding concepts and how to apply Chemistry concepts. With the support and knowledge of SmartLab tutors, my son was able to grasp and apply the concepts. The class isn't a very big group so it's pretty good. The teachers are have clear explanations when it comes to explanning concepts also. The study notes and worksheet that was shared was very useful. The principal is very encouraging and the admin is also very helpful. I attended smartlab for Pure Chemistry tuition. It was an online lesson on Zoom weekly with about 7 students attending. My results improved from D7 in my first exam in Secondary 4 to B3 in O levels. I had a great experience as a student studying at this tuition centre! I joined Mr Collins lessons at the start of 2023 (JC2) for GP lessons. He was an engaging teacher who always made lessons very fun to attend through his insightful discussions on various topics and interesting tidbits he shared about current affairs. Initially, I found GP a difficult subject to tackle but Mr Collins helped to break it down systematically for me and made it seem like an easy enough subject to score. The resources that were provided both by the centre and the ones he created himself were of tremendous help in getting a headstart on content required for GP essays and I managed to use them as references to create my own notes as well. Overall, I managed to improve my grades throughout the year and for A-Levels too. I would definitely recommend this centre & teacher for those who find GP difficult to tackle!

We have been with the Centre for two years and the tutors there are very dedicated to helping their students achieve the best results.  Mr Koh, Mr Collin and Ms Pearl taught my child and she benefited greatly from their guidance.  The tutors at this Centre are very patient and nurturing.  Under them, she did well for subjects that she even least enjoyed too! I have been with smartlab for 4 years and I must say they have helped me constantly to be able to achieve good results for chemistry. The endless amount of resources and materials they have allowed me to practice on what they had thought me. The teacher also thought us everything in advance which helped me understand better when learning the topic in school. Excellent chemistry and physics tutors. Helped me to score A2 for pure chemistry and B3 for pure physics for my o levels. The tutors played a great part in helping me clear my doubts I had on the relevant subjects. The notes provided was very thorough and I frequently used them during my revision. Thanks to teacher Pearl. My son doesn't like Chem initially, and almost failed all his Chem exam in Sce 3  and 4. After he joined Smartlab at Bishan, teacher Pearl taught him step by step. Then my son showed some interest in Chem so slowly. Finally, he scored B3 from D7 in his O level. Teacher Pearl is a very passionate teacher, very patient with her students. I was not doing very well with my science and English. I had to take my N levels last year and I decided to try out this tuition centre. I went from a B to an A for science and I got a B for English. Attended Pure Biology Tuition with Ms Kok! My school does not offer triple science therefore I am taking Biology outside of school at SmartLab. To my surprise, my results (A1) were better than my peers who attended lessons in school! However, this would not be possible without the dedicated teaching environment that SmartLab provides. Ms Kok is a very enthusiastic teacher who’s patient with my everlasting list of questions. The study materials provided are detailed and easy to understand.
