SmartLab Education Private School was established in 2005 as a community initiative to support local students who had not completed their secondary education or attained the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level qualification.
Over the years, we have had the privilege of guiding many students in completing and sitting for their GCE O-Level (up to 2026 & from 2027 onwards, GCE O-level exam is replaced by SEC exam) and GCE A-Level examinations, enabling them to progress to junior colleges, Millennia Institute, polytechnics, universities, and overseas institutions. Through this journey, we have continually refined our teaching methodologies, assessment practices, and student support systems to provide an effective learning environment for students from diverse educational backgrounds.
Transition to the Singapore-Cambridge SEC Examination
From 2027 onwards, the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O-Level) examination has been replaced by the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) examination.
The SEC examination is Singapore’s national secondary school certification and is taken annually by both school and private candidates. Throughout our course materials and communications, references to the former GCE O-Level are correspondingly updated to reflect the SEC qualification where applicable.
Today, we specialise in supporting students in the following categories:
Students Progressing from GCE N(A) or N(T) (up to 2026) / SEC Examination (from 2027 onwards)
Students who have completed the GCE N(A) or N(T) examinations (or equivalent to SEC Exam) and wish to improve their academic qualifications by attaining GCE O-Level (or SEC Exam) results for admission into polytechnics and other post-secondary pathways.
Many of these students also choose to study subjects that were previously unavailable to them, such as Business, Additional Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and other Pure Science subjects. With the appropriate guidance and support, many have gone on to achieve excellent GCE O-Level results.
GCE O-Level (up to 2026)/SEC Exam (from 2027 onwards) and A-Level Retakers
Students seeking to improve their GCE O-Level (up to 2026)/SEC Exam (from 2027 onwards) or GCE A-Level results for admission into specific diploma courses, Millennia Institute, junior colleges, universities, or overseas foundation programmes.
Through disciplined study, continuous assessment, and personalised academic coaching, many of our students have improved by as much as two grades per subject.
Students Returning to Education
Students who did not complete their secondary education due to personal, family, mental or physical health challenges, homeschooling, or work commitments, and who now wish to complete their secondary education and obtain nationally recognised qualifications.
We provide a structured, supportive, and encouraging learning environment that enables these students to resume their educational journey with confidence.
